What is lamination?
Laminating, the process of gluing two sheets of raw material together with a special adhesive film, offers many possibilities and is being used more and more. It allows high quality offset printing and finishing to be combined with strong corrugated cardboard. Lamination is a method of enhancing paper products by gluing a thin layer of paper onto a thicker paper, such as solid or corrugated board, for decorative and technological purposes. It can be combined with embossing, foiling, hot stamping and varnishing.
What does laminating offer?
Lamination can produce an elegant laminate where the printed sheet acts as the visual layer of the product. This solution improves stiffness and strength by using corrugated cardboard.
Applications of laminating
Laminating is used in the production of packaging with high quality offset printing and intensive finishing, such as gilding or various types of varnish. In addition, laminated packaging can also be reinforced by foiling, which ensures high quality over a long period of time and reduces print abrasion.
To sum up:
Laminating is the process of joining sheets of raw material by means of an adhesive film, and offers many possibilities for enhancing paper products. It allows high quality offset printing, additional finishing and fusing corrugated cardboard, resulting in an elegant laminate with superior stiffness and strength. Laminating has found its way into the packaging industry, where it offers excellent print quality and finishing such as gilding and various types of varnish.
